India Meteorological Department@IndiametdeptWithdrawal of southwest Monsoon: ❖ The line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon continues to pass through 32.5°N/72.5°E, Gurdaspur, Chandigarh, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Dholpur, Udaipur, Deesa, Naliya and 23.0°N/67.8°E. ❖ Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of southwest monsoon from remaining parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh; most parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh; entire Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand; some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra during next 48 hours. Weather Systems, Forecast and Warnings : ❖ Yesterday’s Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Myanmar and adjoining areas of southeast Bangladesh, Mizoram & Northeast Bay of Bengal weakened into a Low Pressure Area at 0530 hrs IST and persisted over the same region at 0830 hrs IST of today, 1st October 2026. It is likely to remain over the same region during next 12 hours. ❖ A trough runs from Northeast Arabian Sea to Westcentral Arabian Sea between lower and middle tropospheric levels. ❖ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over north coastal Tamil Nadu & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. ❖ A north-south trough runs from North Interior Karnataka to Gulf of Mannar in lower tropospheric levels. ❖ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric level. ❖ The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Haryana & neighbourhood between middle & upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at middle tropospheric level runs roughly along Long. 69°E to the north of Lat. 26°N. ❖ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh & adjoining Bihar in lower tropospheric levels.
