JKC Sports, the sports venture backed , plans to invest another ₹100-150 crore in sports infrastructure, technology and new sporting intellectual property over the next four to five years. The planned investment comes after the venture deployed a similar amount over its first four years, as it expands its presence across multiple sporting disciplines. JKC Sports co-founder Madhavkrishna Singha said the company views its investments as long-term bets aimed at creating new sporting properties and building the wider sports ecosystem.“We have deployed about ₹100 to 150 crore over the last four years. And the plan is to deploy something similar over the next four to five years,” Singha said.JKC Sports was founded , with Sukhvinder Singh serving as its chief executive. The venture has built a portfolio spanning franchises, sporting platforms and athlete-focused businesses.Its existing investments include the Gwalior franchise in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, the My Bridge 360 community platform and partnerships with Lucknow Super Giants, Kashi Rudras in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League and American Gambits in the Global Chess League. It has also invested in Sheru Classic Universe, a fitness, health and wellness platform operating across nine countries.Beyond franchise ownershipWhile franchise-based opportunities remain part of its strategy, JKC Sports is also looking to create its own sporting intellectual property.“Franchise-based investments are something which we are evaluating very carefully to see whether they can create long-term value,” Singha said. “In case we don't see that, then we feel it's best to start creating our own IP in the sport, from a grassroots to talent level.”The company is currently exploring opportunities across eight to 10 sporting disciplines, including cricket, bridge, squash, shooting, swimming, badminton, wrestling and powerlifting.JKC Sports has also established a dedicated capability centre to support its own portfolio and provide services to other businesses operating in the sports industry.The expansion reflects a broader strategy to participate in India's growing sports economy not only through team ownership, but also through infrastructure, technology, grassroots development and the creation of new sporting properties.With another ₹100-150 crore earmarked for the next phase, JKC Sports is positioning itself for a larger role in India's multi-sport ecosystem over the coming years.
