India Meteorological Department@IndiametdeptWeather Systems, Forecast and Warnings: ❖ The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level is near its normal position and eastern end to the north of normal position. ❖ Yesterday’s Well Marked low pressure area over central parts of northern Madhya Pradesh & adjoining south Uttar Pradesh lay over northwest Madhya Pradesh & adjoining southwest Uttar Pradesh at 0530 IST and weakened into a Low Pressure Area over the same region at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 05th September 2026. It is likely to move east-northeastwards during next 2 days. ❖ A trough runs from south Haryana to south Assam in lower tropospheric levels. ❖ A trough runs from south Gujrat to north Bangladesh in lower & middle tropospheric levels. ❖ A trough runs from south Telangana to Gulf of Munnar in lower tropospheric level. ❖ The Western Disturbance as a trough in middle & upper tropospheric level runs roughly along Long. 68°E to the north of Lat. 28°N. Under the influence of above systems, the following weather is likely: Northwest India: ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over JammuKashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on 5th September; Uttarakhand during 5th-11th September. ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over Haryana Chandigarh & Delhi on 5th September; East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh during 5th-6th September; East Uttar Pradesh during 6th-8th September. ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over rest parts of northwest India. ❖ Isolated heavy rainfalllikely over Uttarakhand during 5th-7th September and during 10th-11th September; Haryana Chandigarh & Delhi, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh during 5th-6th September; East Uttar Pradesh during 5th-8th September; East Rajasthan on 6th September with isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over East Rajasthan on 5th September. Central India: ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over West Madhya Pradesh during 5th-6th September; East Madhya Pradesh during 5th-8th September; Vidarbha on 11th September; Chhattisgarh during 8th-11th September. ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over West Madhya Pradesh during 7th-11th September; East Madhya Pradesh during 9th-11th September; Vidarbha during 5th-10th September; Chhattisgarh during 5th-7th September. ❖ Isolated heavy rainfalllikely over West Madhya Pradesh during 6th-7th September; East Madhya Pradesh during 5th-8th September and Chhattisgarh during 09th -11thSeptember with isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over West Madhya Pradesh on 5th September. East India: ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 5th-11th September; Gangetic West Bengal during 7th-11th September; Jharkhand during 8th-10th September; Bihar during 5th-7th September and on 11th September; Odisha during 9th-11th September. ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning likely over Gangetic West Bengal during 5th-6th September; Jharkhand during 5th-7th September and on 11th September; Bihar during 8th10th September; Odisha during 5th-8th September. ❖ Isolated heavy rainfalllikely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 5th-7th September and on 11th September; Gangetic West Bengal during 8th-9th September; Jharkhand on 9th September; Bihar during 6th-8th September; Odisha during 9th-11th September with isolated very heavy rainfallalso likely over Bihar on 5th September. Northeast India: ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 5th-11th September; Assam & Meghalaya during 5th-7th September and during 10th-11th September. ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall likely over Assam & Meghalaya during 8th-9th September. ❖ Isolated thunderstorm & lightning likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 5th-8th September; Assam & Meghalaya during 5th-9th September. ❖ Isolated heavy rainfalllikely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 5th-11th September. West India: ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall likely over Konkan & Goa during 5th-9th September. ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall likely over Konkan & Goa during 10th-11th September; Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Saurashtra & Kutch during 5th-11th September. South Peninsular India: ❖ Isolated to Scatteredrainfall likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Kerala & Mahe, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Telangana during 5th-11th September; Lakshadweep during 5th-8th September; Coastal Karnataka during 5th-7th September. ❖ Fairly Widespread to Widespread rainfall likely over Lakshadweep during 9th-11th September; Coastal Karnataka during 8th-11th September. ❖ Isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph)likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during 5th-6th September, with gusty winds (speed reaching 3040 kmph gusting to 50 kmph) likely over North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka during 5th6th September. ❖ Isolated heavy rainfalllikely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe on 05thSeptember. ❖ Strong Surface Winds likely over North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during 5th-6th September.
